DAY 1:- Darjeeling

              A M N TRAVELS reprsentative will recieve you at the New Jalpaiguri Railway station or at the Bagdogra airport. From here , our reprsentative will be assisting in your further journey to Darjeeling , which is around 68 km away. Located at an average height of 6700 ft , Darjeeling is a beautiful hill station which is famous for its scenic Himalayan trenches and sprawling tea estates. Here you also have the luxury of exploring its breathtaking beauty on a vintage train , which is we know as Toy train. After an hour and forty minutes , you would be entering the mesmerizing surroundings of Darjeeling. Check into your hotel , relax for a while. Rest of the day is at liesure. So , you can walk out to the local market for shopping or other personal activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 2:-  Sightseeing Darjeeling

                   Start Your day fresh with a mountain trip to Tiger Hill. Being the highest point of Darjeeling , Tiger Hill oferrs some of the best sights of the Himalayas, Which are apt to be visited  earli in morning. Imaginge  yourself standing  infront of the mighty Kanchenjunga peak, the snow clad peaks of which are turning golden due to the rising sun. This panoramic view  is the best introduction of Tiger Hill. in order to catch this breathtaking  sight, Leave early from your hotel. magnificent hillis around 11 km from the town of Darjeeling.

As you climb down the hill, you would be embarking on a visit to the incredible Ghoom monasstery and Batasia Loop. One of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries in Darjeeling , Ghoom Monastery is about 7 km from the town and is famous frm its huge statueof lord Buddha. Post that ,drive  back to your hotel for a hearty breakfast. Rest of the day is scheduled for visiting major attraction  inside the town.

Fist on the list would  be Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, followed by Lebong race course. peace  pagoda, Tibetan Refugee self help Center, Tensing - Gumbo rock ropeway and parmesan Nadia Himaliyan Zoological park, which houses the rare snow leopard and Tibetan wolf. you also would be getting a chance to visit the lush green tea estates,which the town is so proud of . DAY 3:- Gangtok

               After breakfast in the morning , check out from your hotel and head to Gangtok , a mystical hill station in the Himalayas of the north-east. Located in the eastern Himalayan range , Gangtok has an amazing blend of nature and religion. Amidst dense forests and Himalayan peaks , lies the quaint hill station of Gangtok , which has several colourful Monasteries. The drive to Gangtok takes around 2 - 3 hours. Thus after reaching you would have ample time to relax in your hotel. you can even utilize time to explore the nearby attractions , which are at walking distance. This would be followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

 

DAY 4:- Sightseeing in Gangtok

               In the morning after the breakfast , our tour representative will take you to the sightseeing tour of Gangtok. With the maiden visit to Enchey and Rumtek monastery , sightseeing will start on a spiritual note. both the Enchey and Rumtek are amongst the most significant of the monasteries located in Gangtok. The former is located at a distance of around 3 kms from Gangtok. The legendary monastery is believed to be constructed around 200 years back , and today it marks an important seat of Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism. On the contrary , Rumtek monastery is open to every kind of a Buddhist. Little older than Enchey , Rumtek monastery houses relics of the 16th Karmapa. After that you would be visiting the research institute of Tibetology , Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms , Chorten and Orchid sanctuary. By evening , You will return at your hotel to have a overnight stay.

 

DAY 5:- Excursions from Gangtok

              Day 5 of our exclusive Darjeeling-Gangtok tour is dedicated to excursions from Gangtok. Under this , you would be heading towards the very popular Tsomgo lake and Baba mandir. Tsomgo is a glacier lake , which is around 38 kms from the town of Gangtok. Scaling the Gangtok-Nathula highway , which goes through rugged mountain terrains and cliffs , you would be reaching the beautiful Sikkimese lake. this will take around 1 hour. The lake is famous for its scenic and tranquil beauty which makes it a peaceful outing place. Besides its beauty , Tsomgo lake also holds a sacred status. Right on the banks , lies a temple of Lord Shiva , which adds to the divinity of the releion.

After spending a wonderful time at the breathtaking Tsomgo lake , You will start your journey to Baba Harbhajan singh mandir , which is located nearby , unlike other shrines in Sikkim , which are dedicated to some deity or religious concept , Baba mandir commemorates an army martyr , major Harbhajan singh. The shrine has a lot of significance for the locals as well as the personnels of the Indian army posted in the region. The shrine is nestled at an altitude of around 4000 mtrs , high up in the hills. After that , you would be driven back to your hotel for your overnight stay. evenings will be free  , so you can stroll around the nearby streets or shop on the last days of the tour.

 

DAY 5:- Departure

              After breakfast , check out from the hotel. you will be transferred to the new Jalpaiguri Railway station or Bagdogra airport for your further journey.

DAY 1:- Arrival in darjeeling

                  Your journey to the wonderful northeastern gateways will start as you reach the New Jalpaiguri  station or bagdogra airport in West Bengal. From here , our tour representative will be escorting you to your onward journey to Darjeeling ,which is an alluring hill station in the Indian state of west Bengal

positioned at the northern part of west Bengal, Darjeeling has snow clad Himalayan peaks and dense fo forest lined up all around it .Drive to Darjeeling is likely to take nearly 1 hr and 40 mins. On entering the region of Darjeeling, you would be welcomed by lush green tea plantations, which have been the true  face of the hill station. Besides these, Darjeeling has a lot to offer, like the panoramic mountain views which will leave you spellbound. on your arrival in Darjeeling, you would be checking into a pre- booked hotel for an overnight stay.

 

DAY 2 :- Sightseeing in Darjeeling

               Visit the magnificent Tiger Hill the first thing in the morning. The reason behind its early visit is the view of the morning sun glistening the lofty snow clad peaks of Kanchenjunga.

Tiger Hill is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Darjeeling, that have found their address 11 km from the town of Darjeeling. Not just Kanchenjunga , if you are lucky, you can even watch the head of the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest turning all golden by the sun. On your back to hotel, you would be visiting Ghoom monastery and Batasia Loop. Like the Tiger Hill, these two also hold a great amount of significance.

Just 7 Km short from the town of Darjeeling, lies the famous Ghoom monastery. Belonging to the Gelupka sect of Buddhism, the monastery has a 15 ft statue of Lord Buddha as one of its main attractions, which is known as Maitreya Buddha. Besides the Maitreya Buddha, the monastery also houses idols of other Buddhist deities as well. This includes the likes of Buddha of Compassion and Tsongkhapa.

Another prominent attraction to visit in the early hours of the day is Batasia Loop, which is a faccinating railway track loop. To watch this, you would be boarding the world renowned and vintage toy train of Darjeeling. From the loop, you can have a whole view of the lovely landscapes of Darjeeling, plus the flowery garden on whichthe loop is encircled, adds on to the charm of Batasia loop.

Post these visits, head back to your hotel for a sumptuous breakfast. The other half of the day is meant to cover other attractions of Darjeeling. Under this ,you would be visiting the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden and Ropeway .

There is also a Peace Pagoda located in the town of Darjeeling, which also would be covered in our sigtseeing trip. With the aim of creating peace all around, the peace Pagoda or Stupa invites people of all castes, creeds and religion to visit the place and develop mutual harmony for each other. It is popular as Japanese Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling. Overnightstay at the hotel.

 

DAY 3:- Transfer to Kalimpong and sightseeing

               After an early morning breakfast  , embark on a journey to Kalimpong , which is another famous hill station in the state of West Bengal. Kalimpong resides at an elevation of around 1200 mtrs and the main town is on a ridge area connecting two hills. Owing to its magnificent Himalayan beauty and invigorating climate , this place is not less than a paradise.

After a journey of aroun d 2 hrs. You will arrive at Kalimpong. As you arrive , you would be quickly heading to a sightseeing tour of Kalimpong. Under this , you would be visiting Deolo hills , Teesta valley , Pine view point , Orchid , Golf club and Dr. Graham homes school.

Amongst them , Deolo hills holds quite a prominence. As mentioned earlier , Kalimpong lies between the ridge of two hills , Deolo hill is one of them. Situated at an elevation of around 1700 mtrs , Deolo hill is the highest point of the hill station. Owing to the location of the hill , you can have an enchanting view of the whole town of Kalimpong , the nearby Relli valley and the bloodline of Kalimpong , the beautuful Teesta river. Once you reach the top of the hill , you can roam in the park with exotic flowers.

Besides these attractions , our tour reprsentative will also let you to the sacred Durpin hill and Durpin monastery , which is around 5 kms from the main town of Kalimpong. After this , you can check in to your pre-booked hotel to have an overnight stay.

 

DAY 4:- Pelling sightseeing

               Post breakfast , bid goodbye to Kalimpong and make your way to Pelling , which is a prominent hill station in the western part of the Sikkim. Situated at an altitude of around 2100 mtrs , Pelling is known for its natural splendor and tranquility. Unspoiled and covered with dense alpine vegetation , waterfalls after every couple of miles and the sight of the greater Himalayas and Kanchanjunga overshadowing the valley , this town is perfect to wind up in the lap of nature.

Journey to Pelling from Kalimpong will take around 2 hrs and as you arrive in these serene paradise , you would be embarking on a sightseeing trip to the numerous attractions or the jewels that the town feels proud of. Amongst them , the most prominent one includes Kanchanjunga and Rimbi waterfalls. At first , you would be heading to the Rimbi waterfalls , which is around 12 kms from Pelling. Rimbi waterfalls is situated right at the banks of Rimbi river and is astonishing to watch.

Moving ahead of these falls are the king size kanchanjunga falls. Situated aroun d28 kms from the main town of Pelling and named after the mighty Kanchanjunga mountain , it is renowned for its grandeur and beauty. The existence of this splendid waterfall largely remained unknown until the mid 90s  , when a local tour operator accidentally discovered it at a sharp curve on the roadside. This place is ideal for picnics with family and friends.

Other attractions that you will be surely visiting in Pelling including Kecheopalri lake and Rimbi rock garden which lies in the close vicinity of the majestic falls. Also visit Sinsore bridge , Asias second highest bridge , post all the sightseeing , return to the town of Pelling to check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

 

DAY 5:- Gangtok sightseeing (full day)

               This day of our exclusive tour is dedicated to tasting the flavours of the Himalayan town of Gangtok. Nestled in the Shivalik hills of the Himalayas , close to the Buddhist country of Bhutan , Gangtok is blessed with a mystical blend of natural beauty and Buddhism. Owing to this , Gangtok is dotted with several Buddhist monasteries that are believed to be quite ancient. Journey from Pelling to Gangtok will take roughly about 2 - 3 hours , after arriving you would we embarked on a sightseeing trip.

Sightseeing in Gangtok includes the very famous Rumtek monastery , which is also the largest of its kind in the state. Serving as an important seat of the Karmapa lama , the monastery holds a lot of significance for the religion of Buddhism. It enshrines a golden stupa that has relics of the ancient Karmapa in the form of statues and paintings. you will be shedding your tiredness in the spiritual ambience of the monastery.

After Rumtek , you would be taken to Do drul Chorten stupa , which is one of the biggest in Sikkim. Encircled by Chorten Lhakhang and guru Lhakhang , it boasts of two huge statues of guru Rinpoche. As you would be done visiting the religious sects of Gangtok , head towards other attractions in the capital of the state , which include the research institute of Tibetology , Botanical garden , Tashi view point and Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms. DAY 6:- Tsomgo lake and Baba mandir (full day)

               Being sitiated in the Himalayan topography , Gangtok has various natural attractions which are filled with mystical beauty and serenity. One of them is the breathtaking Tsomgo lake which offers one of the most beautiful sights in the region. The lake is nestled at an altitude of 12,400 ft and it will take around 1 hour to reach. Tsomgo or Changu lake is actually a Glacier lake , which derives its waters from the snow capped mountains. The lake is also a home of Brahmin ducks and migratory birds. Being a prominent tourist place , the banks of the lake have shops selling trinkets and Yak cheese. So you can buy some for yourself. The locals also provide for Yak rides so you can have a nice time exploring the beautiful surrounding sitting on the back of a Yak. Admire the beauty of the lake and pay a visit to the lord Shiva temple , which is located on the banks of Tsomgo lake. We can also visit Nathu la pass , which is the border of India and China.

After that , move towards Baba Harbhajan singh memorial war temple , which is 20 kms from Tsomgo lake near Gangtok. Situated at an altitude of around 13000 ft , close to Jelep pass , is a memorial shrine , dedicated to a soldier of the 23rd Punjab regiment , who died in the 1962 war between India and China. as per the legend , after meeting his tragic death in the war , he came in the dreams of one of his peers , and asked to built a war memorial after him. Following this , Indian army built a war memorial in order to commemorate the sacrifice of this martyr. later on , this memorial started enjoying the privileges of a sacred shrine. The original Baba Harbhajan singh temple was built in the year 1983 at the bunker of the late soldier. When you will visit this bunker , you will come across dresses , stationaries and pictures of the soldier. There also lies a small wishing poodle , in which you can throw a coin and make a wish.

After a full day of excursion , return to your hotel in Gangtok. Your rest of the time is at liesure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

DAY 7:- Departure

Day 01 : - Arrival and Transfer to Darjeeling

 

As you arrive at New jalpaiguri Railway station (71 km from Darjeeling ) Bagdogra Airport (72 km )Tenzing Norgay bus stand (64 km ), meet our tour representative who helps you with an assisted transfer to the Darjeeling. perched at an altitude  of 7100 m above the sea level, Darjeeling offers stunning views of lush tea gardens and the mighty Himalayas. This hill town is also home to the UNESCO world Heritage site of the Darjeeling  Himaalayan Railway, fondly referred to as the toy train. the place  boasts of an extremely serene surrounding.

On reaching Darjeeling , complate the check-in formalities  at the hotel. Relax for some time. Later on , the evening is at leisure. You are free to take a stroll at the mall road or indulge in shopping at the popular shopping centers.stay overnight.

 

Day 2:- Darjeeling

              The second day starts very early. You have to get up around 3:45 am for a short trip to Tiger hill to enjoya memorable sunrise view (subject to clear weather) , 11 kms away. On your way back , visit the other attractions including Ghoom Monastery , war memorial and Batasia loop. Later , back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast , continue your sightseeing including Padmaja naidu Zoological park , Himalayan mountaineering institute (closed on thursday) , Ropeway , Tibetan refugee self help center (closed on sunday) , Tea estate , Natural history meuseum (except sunday) and Peace pagoda.

Those who are visiting Darjeeling must not miss sunrise view from Tiger hill over the Kanchanjunga peak. When the first rays of the rising sun sheds light on the peak , the view looks extremely beautiful. The hill is amidst lush greenery of thick oak forests , forming a beautiful sight for the on-looker.

Peace pagoda , opened in November 1992 , is an important attraction here and is placed on the slopes of Jalaphar hill. This sacred site showcases the 4 avatars of lord Buddha. The tallest free standing structure in the town , this pagoda has 2 Lion models on the either sides of the walls on the lower level. The huge Buddha statues are golden in colour and are carved in the walls. As you climb the stairs and reach the top , enjoy nice views of the surroundings. Take parikrama around the huge dome like structure and spot Buddha statues in various postures.

Enjoy wonderful views of the Verdant tea plantations and snow covered peaks while aboard the cable ride that takes you to the beautiful Rangit valley from Darjeeling. Take a walk in the lush tea gardens of Darjeeling while the fresh aroma fills your nostrils.

Placed inside the well maintained garden at Batasia loop , the Gorkha war memorial is a tribute to the Gorkha soldiers who sacrificed their lives in battles. Day 3:- Darjeeling - Gangtok (sightseeing)

              Today , get an assisted transfer to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim state. Placed at an elevation of 1600 meters above the sea level, Gangtok is known for its monasteries, abundant scenic beauty and a pleasant climate. One of the most popular destinations in north-east India, Gangtok has a number of viewpoints to treat enjoy mesmerizing views of the landscape. The hill town boasts of housing several varieties of butterflies, Orchids and Rhododendron. As you reach, check-into the hotel. Later, leave for sightseeing. Visit the popular tourist attractions of Gangtok including Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall and Flower Show.

Possibly Sikkim’s biggest stupa, Do Drul Chorten was built on a hillock in 1945 by Late Truslshi Rimpoche, the head of Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The golden -colored dome is the most striking feature of this structure. 2 huge statues of Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) look stunning. In the complex, one can spot lamas doing their prayers.

Enchey Monastery, founded way back in the year 1909, is a splendid place of worship. As the monastery is perched on a hill, it offers a nice view of Mt Kanchenjunga. Popular for its Chinese—Pagoda like design, the gompa’s inside walls are decorated with images of deities. Lord Buddha and Guru Padmasambhava are worshipped here. The complex also has a monastery.

There is a permanent flower show at Flower Exhibition Center situated near Ride Park and White Hall. Entry fee is INR 10 per head and children below 5 years are free. The exhibition area is a small green house with various kinds of colorful flowers like orchids, roses, gerberas, carnations, celosia etc, on display (according to season). Do not miss clicking photographs here. If time permits, you can visit the Mall road in the evening. Stay overnight in Gangtok.

 

Day 4:- Gangtok - Lachung

              After Morning breakfast on Day 4 , we move towards north Sikkim region. Check out from Gangtok at around 10 am and begin journey for Lachung. Located at an altitude of 9600 ft above the sea level , Lachung is a beautiful village amidst lush peaks , that forms an enchanting view for tourists. Cascading waterfalls , Snow covered mountains , dazzling streams and a pleasant climate sllure travellers from all around the globe. Apricot , Apple and Peach orchards are an added bonus. Blankets and woven rugs are what you should get your hands on.

On the way , halt at a few wonderful places Tashi viewpoint- for enjoying mesmerizing views of the landscapes , Kabi lungstok- a popular historical town that also has Buddhist monastery , Naga waterfalls- have a photo session hare. Later continue to Chungthang to visit the meeting point of Lachen chu and finally at the twin waterfalls and Bhim Nala waterfalls for some memorable moments.

Evening arrival at Lachung. Complete the check in formalities at the hotel and have a overnight stay.

 

Day 5:- Short trip of Yumthang

              After breakfast get set for a days trip to the beautiful Yumthang valley , Lying at an altitude of 11,800 ft above the sea level. En-route you come across a popular hot spring , known for having medicinal properties , which can cure skin diseases. Later , continue to Yumthang. Popularly known as -Valley of flowers- , this valley looks very beautiful during spring , when colourful flowers like Alpine and many more are in full blooming mode. During winters , the valley is covered with a sheet of white snow. Enjoy the amazing weather and treat your eyes to the beautiful views.

In the afternoon , back to Lachung for the sightseeing. The list of attractions of Lachung includes Lachung monastery , Cottage industry and waterfalls.

The oldest Buddhist monastery of Sikkim , Lachung Gompa is placed at an elevation of 2750 mtrs above the sea level. The monastery is the base for mountaineering activities and green lake trekking in Sikkim. Belonging to Nyingmapa sect of Mahayana Buddhism , It has a statue of guru Rinpochi. It was originally constructed in 1806 and then renovated in 1969. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 6:- Lachung - Gangtok

              After having breakfast, leave for Gangtok. On the way stop at Singhik and Mangan view points, just a few kilometers away from each other. If the weather is clear, these viewpoints offer some of the most amazing views of various peaks in the Himalayan range including Mount Kabru, Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Pandim, Mount Simvo, Mount Jopuno and Mount Siniolchu. Do not miss the opportunity to click photographs of the beautiful scenery here. After spending some memorable time here, continue to Gangtok. While in your car, treat your eyes to the beauty of tall trees, colorful flowers and snow-capped peaks.

Day 7:- Full excursion to Tsomgo lake and baba Mandir

             After morning breakfast , leave for a day’s trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir.

Around 38 km away, Tsomgo Lake (12,400 feet) or Changu Lake is a glacial lake that receives its waters from the snow- covered mountains encircling it. The sight is extremely beautiful and is a favorite haunt of Brahmin ducks and other migratory birds. As it is an important tourist attraction, you can find some shops selling knick-knacks and Yak cheese. You can also opt for yak rides to explore the breathtaking scenery. Admire the scenic views and do visit Lord Shiva temple, on the banks of the Lake.

Thereafter, start moving towards Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial War temple, around 20 km from here. Placed near Jelep Pass, the temple lies at an elevation of 13000 feet. This shrine is dedicated to a soldier Harbhajan Singh of the 23rd Punjab Regiment, who sacrificed his life in the Indo-China was of 1962. It is said that after his death in the war, the soldier came in the dreams of one of his friends and asked him to construct a memorial for him. For the same reason, the Indian Army built this memorial in the remembrance of the sacrifice of this soldier. After some time, this war memorial turned into a shrine. Built in 1983, the temple is in the bunker of this martyr and consists of his pictures, dresses and other personal belongings. There is a small wishing pond nearby where you can throw a coin to make a wish.

Day 8:- Gangtok - Siliguri for departure

              On the last day, have breakfast. After completing the check-out formalities get an assisted transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand for your onward journey.
